HI POINT COMPACT 9MM 3.5 PRO

I properly cared for the gun, always cleaned it and kept it oiled and fired enough rounds through it that the fun was broke in. It was literally good for only one shot and then you had to deal with clearing a malfunction. The Hi Point was hot garbage! It would either fail to eject a spent casing or failed to load a new round after every time it fired. I started taking the gun out to a shooting range to get familiar with it and become tactically competent with it.

Having lived in California my whole life, I knew very little about firearms at the time but have always been very pro 2nd Amendment. He was selling the Hi Point C-9 for only $99.99 so I bought it. A local pawn shop sold new Hi Point handguns. Due to his threats, when we moved here, we wanted to buy a handgun for home protection. Before we moved, he had threatened to kill my wife and kidnap their kids. As a result, he had lost all parental rights and there was a restraining order against him, to stay away from everyone. Her ex husband was very abusive to her and the kids they had together. In 2003, my wife kids and I moved from California, to Colorado, to the town that my wife was born and raised in. Others talk smack about it, but never owned one, go figure. I tryed a Glock, but it was too light in my hands. Its weight, is just right in my hands for steadiness.

I payed special attention to the ramp and the safety. I took it apart, cleaned it and oiled it. It jammed twice within the first few months. I have had this gun for 2 months short of 7 years. Posted by Bruno Dinicola on Nov 30th 2021
